Outdoor workouts in the Bay area

Here is another one of my favorite, the view of Ocean Beach from the Cliff House at sunset.  Again, this was an unplanned evening, the view from both either the top or the lower restaurant are great, but I prefer the view from the lower restaurant.  Another advantage of this view is that is available rain or shine, and recently, although we have filled up our rain table, it’s great to have options.

When you can’t get to a hike or don’t have the time for one, try any one of the many playgrounds/parks that San Francisco offers, its gets you outside so you can reap in those benefits and you can give yourself a great workout also.  I do the usual squats, lunges, push-ups with their variations  and you can throw in some arm/back workout utilizing the monkey bars.  One park with a fantastic view of the city is the Walter Haas Playground, near Diamond Heights.  There is apparently a swing there, from which you can see the city, but I couldn’t find that shot.  If anyone knows where that is, I’d really like to know.  Here is a pic of of the partial view from that park.  Looking forward to working out outside in San Francisco, especially as spring beckons.

Another spot to explore in Marin is Tennessee Valley, it’s a hilly hike to the black, sandy beach.  Absolutely beautiful!
