Aliv Bars – to boost immunity, hair health and recovery from Covid

So, we are stuck at home and covid rates continue to climb even with the vaccine, we have another strain.  I wanted to make something, that would help boost our immunity so Aliv seeds or halim seeds or garden cress seeds are highly nutritious.  According to ayurvedic medicine, these are great for post partum recovery as they help with hair fall/loss issues, and are fantastic for promoting a stronger immune system, so great for those recovering from the corona virus.  These red seeds are bitter to bite, so it’s advisable to soak them in water first and consume them with healthy fats.  Try this quick and easy aliv bars recipe, and let me know what you think.

Aliv Bars

1/2 cup of aliv or halim or garden cress seeds (soak them in a cup of water)

2 tbsp ghee

3 cups of fresh coconut

1 cup of jaggery

chopped almonds

roasted flax seeds

chopped cashews

raisins

Soak aliv seeds in a cup of water for two hours, until they are ripe, but not sticky.  Melt ghee in a pan and add the seeds.  Add the jaggery to melt it evenly and then add the rest of the ingredients and stir until they are throughly mixed and the mixture begins to bind.  Add to a pan and allow to cool.  Cut into bars and eat one bar daily!  Enjoy!
